"There are few positions more privileged and exciting than providing new artistic talent with a vehicle and platform for their work" - Lauren Sturgess

Immediately after graduating with an acting degree from the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts, Lauren was the beneficiary of precisely that kind of opportunity. The John Godber Company took a company of new graduates and put on the highly acclaimed Wuthering Heights in which Lauren played Cathy Earnshaw/Cathy Linton.

Since then Lauren has performed at the Bolton Octagon and been part of their creative team as well. Her artistic talents don't stop and performance, she is a keen artist with an eye for detail and enjoys directing and producing for stage and in the studio. Music and sound have been important to Lauren from an early age. She started singing in the Wigan Youth Choir at the age of 6 and has sang and now sings with her brother in their duo Guess Two (Available for weddings and birthdays!)

Lauren believes that you only get out of life what you put into it but recognises that sometimes you just have to have that one opportunity so she loves being able to provide that opening for people and encourages them to work hard and be the best they can be.

Lauren stepped down as Co-Artistic Director in September 2021, but has remained on the board of trustees.

When all the work is done, there is nothing nicer than cozying up on the couch with her dog Ollie and watching endless episodes of F.R.I.E.N.D.S!
